Overview:

Selective is looking for a Sr. Application Developer to join our team! This role will be responsible for devising and designing system requirements for the solution of moderately difficult business problems, as well as, developing complex procedures for the solution for business needs and problems. This role will also be responsible for the development and implementation of major systems, and designing appropriate application systems structures, which provide a solid foundation for well-written and reliable application programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Estimates project staffing requirements. May be responsible to estimate resource needs for analysts, programmers, user personnel, consultants, equipment, etc.
  • Plans and provides leadership for the full range of programming actions needed to achieve desired end-results on complex problems.
  • Develops system implementation schedules and coordinates testing and debugging for programming changes.
  • Coordinates with business unit representatives to define and evaluate business technology needs and project feasibility.
  • Ensures program/system documentation are prepared as required.
  • Act as expert support for problem determination and resolution in the production environment.
  • Prepare routine project status reports and communicates timely to leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Gain an extensive working knowledge of business data and user functions, and will share knowledge and train others.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to effectively work well with people in other departments and/or outside of the enterprise.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills.
  • Expertise in related development environments.
  • Successfully accomplished (but not limited to) the duties listed in the preceding level.
  • College degree in Computer Science, Management Information Science, Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of programmer/analyst experience.

Salary range:  $90,000 - $130,000.  The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint. Additional considerations include the candidate's qualifications and experience.
