Roles and Responsibilities:

Specific Job Duties

As a supervisor for our Maintenance Engineering Team, you will have two primary areas of responsibility.  Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager you will:

  • Maintenance Engineering: Develop and lead the continuous improvement processes for the Maintenance Team of three Reliability and Maintenance Engineers by implementing preventive and predictive maintenance systems and by optimizing the processes used to manage the maintenance activities.
  • Planning/Scheduling: Supervise the team of five planner/schedulers to safely and efficiently execute the routine and emergency work of the Maintenance Team.

 Leadership Responsibilities

As Supervisor of the Maintenance Engineering and Planner/Scheduler Teams you will:

  • Promote a safe work environment.
  • Coach, mentor, and provide development opportunities for each member of the team through a collaborative career mapping approach that also supports Samsung’s organizational objectives.
  • Coordinate closely with Engineers, Project Managers, Operations, and others to align the team’s work to achieve the greatest success of the WTR department and Samsung.
  • Develop, implement, and improve work processes to optimize the team’s functions and integrate with Samsung systems.
  • Lead conflict resolution within a multi-disciplinary team, fostering a culture of collaboration across the team, department, and company.
  • Support the team to prioritize daily tasks, approving and prioritizing external support requests.
  • Training, executing, and ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintaining and improving existing Standard Operating Procedures including the Certification documentation and process.
  • Create work schedules and monitors employee attendance.
  • Monitor performance metrics, identifies positive and negative fluctuations, and escalate to appropriate parties if deviations occur.

Maintenance Engineering

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, you will lead the Maintenance & Reliability Engineers under your supervision to build a comprehensive program to structure and optimize the maintenance processes for the Water systems.  Your responsibilities will include identifying methods and developing processes to improve the reliability of our systems and optimize our maintenance programs.  This is expected to include, among other activities, the following:

  • Evaluate equipment and system failures to identify and understand failure modes and root causes.
  • Develop preventive maintenance programs to improve system reliability, and adjust maintenance intervals to eliminate unnecessary maintenance while optimizing system uptime.
  • Perform FMEA and other studies to understand the risk profile of maintenance programs.
  • Implement and improve condition monitoring programs including vibration analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasonics, oil analysis, and others to drive improved maintenance programs and higher reliability.
