About the Opportunity:

2024 is a very exciting year for Jerry! As we continue growing our business, we are looking for a Tax Manager who is passionate about solving interesting problems to come and join our team and help scale our business. You will be working closely with a stellar and tight knit team that has decades of combined financial experience in investment banking, hedge fund management, M&A, FP&A, Controllership and Big 4 Audit.  

Reporting directly to our VP of Finance, you will have exposure to nearly all financial activities and operational complexities involving multiple product lines and legal entities. You will be owning a large part of the domestic and international tax operations, and collaborate closely with our accounting, finance and legal teams. This is a critical role in enhancing our financial process and procedure as we work towards an IPO. 

How you will make an impact:

• Manage the domestic tax operations, including maintenance of various federal and state tax accounts, annual filings and payments, in collaboration with external tax advisor

• Manage the international tax operations, including areas of corporate income tax, GST/HST, and transfer pricing matters, in collaboration with external tax advisor

• Manage the tax aspect of month end closes, including tax accrual, reconciliations and analysis

• Lead the tax provision process for annual reporting, the tax aspect of financial audits and prepare tax-related financial disclosures.

• Implement and manage sales tax by state as applicable and required for various revenue operations

• Stay up-to-date with tax legislation and ensure the company's compliance with all tax laws and regulations.

• Provide research and guidance on complex tax issues, and new applicable tax topics for the company’s business transactions, including NOL utilization, sales taxes for SaaS, etc.

• Implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and support the company's financial goals, including optimizing the company’s state tax exposures and footprint. 

• Assist legal and people team on annual filings, and census surveys that require inputs on company’s financial performance and financial positions

• Assist with general accounting operations as needed from time to time

Ideal profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Tax required, Master’s degree in Taxation preferred

• 7+ years of relevant tax experience - a mix of public practice at big four firms and industry is strongly preferred

• CPA preferred

• Experience with IPO readiness strongly preferred

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Strong problem solving skills in a fast paced dynamic environment

• Experience with tax softwares and Netsuite (preferred)
