North Central Baptist Hospital is part of Baptist Health System, a trusted provider of hospital, health and wellness services in San Antonio and South/Central Texas. The system includes six acute-care hospitals (Baptist Medical Center, Mission Trail Baptist Hospital, North Central Baptist Hospital, Northeast Baptist Hospital and St. Luke’s Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, and Resolute Health Hospital in New Braunfels), which offer more than 1,812 licensed beds. The system also includes rehabilitation, ambulatory, urgent care and imaging centers, seven freestanding emergency hospitals, the Baptist Physician Network and Baptist School of Health Professions. 

 

North Central Baptist Hospital has been serving the San Antonio community since 1991. Baptist Children’s Hospital and the Baptist Orthopedic Hospital are located on the North Central Baptist Hospital campus. A $60 million, six floor tower expansion opened to patients in the spring of 2014. Three adjacent attached medical office buildings provide physician office space and outpatient services.

 

With 488 licensed beds, the hospital employs approximately 1400 staff.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Chief Operating Officer collaborates with the facility Chief Executive Officer and assumes responsibility for the ongoing effective operation of the department by exerting a leadership role that supports the hospital, mission, vision, goals and objectives while focusing on the patient, physicians, employees, volunteers and the community as customers.  He/she is accountable for departments’ direction and coordination.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Chief Operating Officer has responsibility for day-to-day operations of the facility and related services, ensuring that staff delivers high-quality, cost-effective care and services with a positive margin.  The Chief Operating Officer will promote the facility’s position and image; reflective of the mission, standards and values of the facility, Tenet and the communities served.

 

FUNCTIONAL EXPECTATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: 

The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for providing strong leadership, direction, and assistance in setting strategy with clearly defined expectations.  He/she leads the development of progressive physician/facility strategies and executes plans to optimize the long-term potential of the facility.
