Job Description
Brightspeed has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager - Vendor Performance Management, reporting to our Director of Centralized Engineering and Construction Support. The Senior Manager will manage all aspects of vendor performance associated with the Network Build. The $2B Fiber Build Program will span over the next few years and the $4M annual estimated Core Program are both largely executed via Vendor relationships. The Senior Manager leading the Vendor Performance team will project Vendor spend budgets, analyze performance, process cashflow payments, build performance scorecards and look for system solutions to people problems. This centralized function will oversee Vendors across the 20 State footprint through multiple workstacks and assets not limited to; poles, cable placements, copper & fiber splicing, buried service wire, facility locates, generator maintenance, installation & maintenance, and inside plant construction.
As Senior Manager heading the Vendor Management Team you will have the following responsibilities:
- Support a diverse workforce that manages multiple vendor relationships
- Monitor and manage delivery of vendor services through periodic reviews
- Develop vendor performance scorecards
- Leverage the vendor scorecards with key stakeholders to objectively review vendor performance & address key concerns
- Ensure vendor performance variance and failed KPIs are documented and corrective action plans are implemented
- Assess and address risk and growth areas through the strategic management of vendor relationships
- Prepare and conduct daily/weekly/monthly presentations to leadership team on vendor performance
- Lead by example in creating an environment that encourages open communication, sharing ideas and best practices, and building strong cross-functional relationships
Qualifications
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
- 7+ years Telecommunication experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical work experience
- Prior industry experience in Vendor Performance Management
- Prior experience in contract development & implementation
- Expertise in vendor invoicing
- Knowledge of systems such as; SAP, IQGeo, Sitetracker, Bidmaster, NJUNS, Fieldglass, etc.
- Program Management experience
- Background in leading mid-size teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to successfully interact with cross functional teams
- Process improvement and customer-centric mindset
- Ability to motivate others and work under pressure
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to articulate via written and through oral communication
BONUS POINTS FOR:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Finance, Contract Administration or similar
- Telecom/Cable/Internet Service Provider industry experience
