Primary Purpose:

The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience invites applications for a full-time, 9.5 month, open-rank faculty position. Preferred areas of scholarly expertise include quantitative psychology, health psychology/behavioral medicine or cognitive psychology. However, candidates with expertise in other concentrations will also be considered. The faculty member is responsible for teaching and mentoring student research. Evidence of scholarly productivity is required. A track record of, or potential to secure external funding to support research is desirable. Faculty rank is commensurate with experience and credentials.

Hiring Range: 

Pay Basis:  Annually

Subject to Grant Funding?   

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Maintains an active research program and develop a strong record of peer-reviewed publications and grant submissions. Area of scholarly expertise is open.
2. Teaches core courses in the psychology programs. The teaching load is contingent on research productivity.
3. Mentors students in research.
4. Creates an environment that is conducive to learning.
5. Serves and contributes to appropriate department, college, and university committees.
6. Maintains a professional development plan to assure growth and currency within the academic field.
7. Performs other duties as assigned or required by the Department Chair and/or the Dean.

Required Certifications/Licensures: 

Required Education: Doctoral Degree

Major (if required: Psychology

Required Experience: 1. Record of external funding to support a research program (or evidence of potential to secure external funding).
2. A record of scholarly publications.
3. College and/or university level teaching experience.
