About the role

We are growing our global Talent & Leadership team and looking for an experienced, passionate and committed individual to join the team. This new strategic role focuses on talent identification, talent management, development and learning across ING’s Corporate Staff Departments (CSD), including Risk, Finance and CEO domains.

The role will implement proactive talent management that include increasing the visibility of the talent we have, nurturing potential, and retaining talent with skillsets that are specialist, in high demand and of critical importance to the performance of our business. 

The role is a functional direct report to the Global Head of Talent & Learning, with a hierarchical reporting line to the Senior HR Director for Corporate Staff Departments.

The team

You’ll be a key leader within the Talent & Learning team and within ING’s CSD HR team, giving you the opportunity to partner closely with business leaders, drive end-to-end talent strategies and influence global practices to help our people grow along with our business.

You’ll be a partner of the CRO Management Team and the Finance Management Team, working closely together with the HR Business Partners responsible for these domains.

Roles and responsibilities 

As part of global Talent & Leadership management team, this role ensures the effective and efficient implementation of ING talent strategy across the bank. This role will be building the capability of leaders and HR teams to actively manage and develop talent to meet business objectives.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Implement bank wide yearly Talent Reviews in partnership with the business to build and enhance the leadership bench strength across ING.

    • Own the creation and evaluation of talent data as input to talent reviews.

    • Prepare and facilitate senior team talent identification and succession sessions.

    • Monitor progress against agreed goals and indicators.

  • Integrate strategies to interrupt bias in talent identification, development and succession, to support greater diversity, representation and inclusion in leadership roles.

  • Ensure accurate gender diversity data and reporting against gender representation targets. Leverage ING’s Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging strategy and tools to address issues of under-representation.

  • Ensure that all emerging leaders have sharp IDPs and clear experience maps to accelerate their growth and personal development.

  • Monitor progress of execution of global talent strategies in-country and interact with local Talent Leads around any questions or challenges.

  • Equip people leaders with the skills, tools and data they need to drive data-informed people decisions.

  • Translate CSD business strategies and priorities into talent and skill development plans.  Set clear, measurable and data-driven talent and skill development priorities for CSD and drive efficient operational implementation of approaches to address these priorities. 

  • Partner with the Heads of the Risk, Finance and HR Academies to define priority skill development for specific roles, to be addressed as part of the ING University.

  • Act as a strategic business partner, thought leader and adviser on all Talent & Learning matters to the HRBP community in CSD.

  • Develop board-level analysis of talent related risks to the business and the actions to address these.

  • 8+ years of experience in end-to-end development and implementation of Talent Management processes in global matrix organizations, with proven business impact.

  • Strong global talent/development experience, with significant experience in related roles in at least two countries and cultures. Proven experience partnering with and effectively influencing senior leadership teams.
