As a Contracts Manager, you will partner with business teammates to negotiate, prepare, examine, analyze, manage, and administer a variety of US Federal and State and Local Government contract actions, with particular emphasis on sales contracts, as well as drive and improve Axon’s contracting processes to set Axon up for long-term success. You will partner with a wide variety of stakeholders within Axon to facilitate contract review and negotiations.
What You’ll Do
- Draft, review, and negotiate prime contracts with US Federal Government agencies for the sale of Axon’s goods and services, vendor, and supply.
- Coordinate contract review and negotiation across multiple organizations including Legal, Finance, Sales Operations, Information Security, and Product.
- Review requests for proposals (RFP) and quotes (RFQ) to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
- Administer and manage documents and forms related to procurement efforts.
- Support and lead updates to our Legal team’s processes and procedures including contract playbooks, contract lifecycle management systems, and customer relationship management platforms.
- Review, analyze, and report on RFP, RFQ, and contract terms and conditions.
- Manage record-keeping for all contract-related correspondence and documentation.
- Mentor associate contract managers and other junior employees.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Minimum of 5 years of experience negotiating and administering US Federal Government contracts for sales of goods and services (including SaaS), including but not limited to sales under Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 12 (commercial products and services).
- Experience negotiating commercial contracts for sales of goods and services to State and Local Government or private entities.
- Thorough knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation and agency supplements, task/delivery order contracts, purchase orders, and blanket purchase agreements.
- Maniacal stickler for organization and attention to detail.
- Experience analyzing and mitigating risk for the business during every contract negotiation.
- Willingness to take on any task big or small to get the job done.
- Experience working with legal counsel to drive contracts to execution.
- Experience fulfilling the reporting requirements of contracts.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Must be able to work legally in the U.S.
- Experience contracting with distributors, teaming agreements, and GSA schedules
- JD or MBA preferred.
- Experience assisting with responding to requests for proposals/quotes; thorough understanding of complying with proposal instructions and evaluation factors .
- Experience using contract lifecycle management systems and customer relationship management software (e.g., Salesforce.com).
- Experience working with finance department on pricing, accounting, or revenue recognition contract requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese or French is preferred.
