The Mission Systems Engineering C3BM, Networking, and Autonomy team is looking for a dynamic systems engineer to lead technical efforts on our Advanced Intelligent Gateway (AIG) Product Line. The successful candidate will have a passion for innovation and the drive to see new technology and capability mature into systems solutions. This role will be responsible for the design and development of the AIG solution as it transitions into a product line system within C4IA. This includes being the design authority and architect for pursuit and capture efforts and the overall systems lead for executing programs. Additional responsibilities will include planning, integration, and testing of the networking solution as it relates to the applicable target platforms.
The successful candidate will be part of a distributed team composed of professionals from several disciplines and must have the ability to function well, both alone and with others, and have strong interpersonal skills. The candidate should also not be afraid to get their hands dirty and into the development weeds to enable the success of the team.
This position may require occasional travel (up to 20%.). This position does require that candidate has a final US DoD security clearance, or ability to obtain a final security clearance (US Citizenship is required) in order to access classified information.
Job Responsibilities:
- Demonstrated systems engineering experience through all phases of development including requirements capture and analysis, architecture design, requirements allocation and traceability, system / subsystem integration, verification, system validation and life-cycle product support.
- Subject Matter Expertise in System / Subsystem Hardware and Software integration
- Demonstrated experience in Lab Management and Network Architecture.
- Uses portfolio vision to think beyond the immediate situation, explore multiple potential paths, and adapt decision-making style and thought process based on the situational circumstances.
- Understanding of DoD open systems architecture and protocols
- Work across the business to identify, execute, and collaborate on opportunities to integrate Resilient Autonomous Networking capabilities into demonstratable software and systems solutions
- Leading and coordinating small teams including technical aspects as well as program cost and schedule.
- Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Capable of estimating, tracking, and communicating cost, schedule, and risk in support of program earned value metrics.
- Demonstrate ability to adapt decision-making style based on the situational circumstances.
- Use personal experience and best practices to identify issues, potential problems, and risk.
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
- Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
- Demonstrated experience with pursuit and capture as a design authority responsible for developing Design Approach Reviews
- Experience leading projects through the full Systems V lifecycle
- Experience with the integration complex networked systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience with tools such as JIRA, Git, Subversion, Docker, and requirements management applications such as Cameo.
- Experience with transitioning a mid TRL technology into a high TRL product line solution.
- Experience with design and deploying networking equipment and solutions, like SD-WAN, Satellite WAN links. Analyzing and debugging network topology, IP data flows and IP routing.
