Material Manager is responsible for supervision of department management and staff, facilitating interdepartmental communication and allocating tasks and resources as needed to efficiently and effectively achieve goals.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Highschool diploma or GED required. Bachler's degree in operations or business field preferred.
Experience: 5+ years related experience.
Travel: 0-10% based on business need.
Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 6 am to 6 pm, or 6 pm to 6 am Monday through Friday depending on assigned shift. May vary based on customer demands and can include, but is not limited to: nights, weekends, and holidays.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend daily, weekly, monthly meetings with members of leadership.
- Communicates with multiple project managers to identify needs or concerns.
- Communicates with Talent / HR team members.
- Long term planning to further achieve company’s goals.
- Coordinate and update floor layouts and needs.
- Coordinate logistic schedules onsite and across the country.
- Identify and provide training that is needed.
- Provide material, equipment manpower to various projects.
- Coordinate with procurement & production to foster exchange of ideas and provide cross team learning opportunities.
- Manage / Oversee inbound, outbound, inventory, and packaging processes.
- Manage / Oversee inbound, outbound, inventory, and packaging personnel.
- Communicate with department managers; facilitate resolutions of issues / problems.
- Communicate / coordinate with 3rd party vendors / contractors.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities to minimize expenses and optimize profits.
- Evaluate and manage material equipment needs.
- Lead, coach, and mentor employees to perform at their best through positive encouragement.
- Identify opportunities to expand or shift course to take advantage of freight market.
- Develop new processes and policies as new facility projects arise.
- Identify and correct any variances and initiating any corrective action.
- Ensure proper safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Actively maintains 5S principles throughout work area.
- Actively participates in Faith’s hiring referral and mentoring program, as appropriate.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
