Senior Manager - Head of Intellectual Property Law (all genders)

We are looking for a Senior Manager- Head of Intellectual Property Law (all genders) to join the Legal, Governance and Assurance Department on our journey to always deliver amazing experiences.

Your Mission: 

• You will lead the Intellectual Property Team within Delivery Hero´s headquarters in Berlin, managing a small team of dedicated IP lawyers, and you will build over time a global IP function across our subsidiaries worldwide;

• You will further develop and advance Delivery Hero´s IP strategy from a legal and business perspective to protect our IP assets across a diverse range of products and services, including online food and grocery delivery, logistics services, cloud kitchens, fintech and software developments; 

• You will offer product counseling services (incl. but not limited to generative AI) for our business functions and you will manage substantial IP related disputes in multiple jurisdictions worldwide;  

• You will manage our global trademark portfolio and lead trademark enforcement actions of multiple brands across various jurisdictions ;

• You will perform all IP related tasks in connection with M&A projects or other commercial transactions and you will support Delivery Hero on separation and post-merger integration activities;

• As part of Delivery Hero´s legal and compliance team, you will train stakeholders from different departments (e.g. Brand, Product and Tech) on IP related matters to promote a culture of compliance within our group;

• You will work closely with external law firms in Germany and abroad, coordinating their work in connection with our global trademark protection strategy and any other ongoing projects within the our group; 

• You will monitor legal trends and legislative changes across our markets, and you will support our Public Policy and Governmental Affairs Team in devising strategies and delivering solutions for Delivery Hero’s political challenges in the area of intellectual property law.

Your Heroic Skills:

• You are a fully-qualified lawyer;

• You bring 8+ years of post-qualification work experience in a reputable law firm or as in-house counsel advising on intellectual property and trademark law (experience working with tech companies is considered a plus);

• You have experience in developing and implementing intellectual property strategies and providing legal advice on IP related matters across different jurisdictions as well as relevant experience with M&A transactions. 

• You have experience in leading teams and organizing a department, you are fully proficient in English (which is our working language at Delivery Hero) and you have a solid understanding of how other areas of law interact with intellectual property law;

• You are self-motivated, business minded, solution driven, and capable of providing legal advice in an accurate yet, pragmatic, concise and timely manner;

• You are an absolute team player characterized by good self-organization, excellent work ethics, independence and a high level of commitment;

• You are willing to work in a very fast-paced organization, handling multiple tasks and projects and liaising with multiple business and external stakeholders;

• You are already based in Berlin or willing to relocate to Berlin as soon as your personal circumstances allow for it (remote working and commuting can be arranged for a transitional period).
