The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data security, excellent technical skills, a solid track record of successfully managing complex security projects with direct regulatory compliance impacts, and a proven ability to lead and manage teams in a fast-paced environment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Mentors technical staff and management on best practices created both inside the company and from outside of the company

  • Leads efforts to define, develop, integrate and design security technical controls in a variety of Information Technology (IT) environments and systems

  • Leads efforts to define security product specifications, tools and techniques for intrusion detection, intrusion prevention, data loss prevention, encryption of data, identity/access management and authentication methods

  • Leads efforts to analyze security designs and recommends design solutions that are industry leading or best practice to lower security risk

  • Understands national and international privacy requirements

  • Leads efforts to review design data elements (threat models, data flow diagrams, requirements, etc.) along with known vulnerabilities associated with IT systems

  • Creates designs and recommendations that lower or eliminate security risk

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):         

  • 10+ years of experience with Information Technology architecture including cloud and data architecture in a large-scale, hybrid cloud and on-prem environment

  • 10+ years of experience designing and implementing security solutions for cloud-based systems, including IAM, network security, data protection, and compliance

  • 5+ years of experience with data access management, user permissions, and audit logging

  • 1+ years of experience in Enterprise Storage

  • Experience working with privacy or data protection laws and regulations

  • Experience administering user system access and establishing safeguards to protect information to meet network security requirements

  • Experience with configuration management of security tools for SIEM operation and incident tracking

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • Active Secret Security Clearance

  • Certifications such as Certified Information System's Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or security-related vendor certifications

  • Experience with enterprise-level implementations and data discovery tools (ex: BigID, Varonis, Microsoft Purview, etc.) and reporting capabilities

  • Experience working with cloud-based environments and their security considerations

  • Experience with scripting or automation tools for workflow optimization (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
