JOB DESCRIPTION:

POSITION SUMMARY:                                                                                               

 

Must be capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and department leaders to address concerns and issues that affect part quality, production efficiency, and work cell ergonomics. Must understand and execute the concepts of Reliability Excellence. The successful candidate will have exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and management skills, demonstrating the ability to be an innovator and change agent. Additionally, he/she will be hands-on to respond the maintenance needs of manufacturing.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

  1. Lead maintenance technicians in the repair, replacement, installation, and preventative maintenance of the building and equipment.
  2. Manages and schedules maintenance staff accordingly to provide day to day line support, in-house repair work, breakdown responses, vacation scheduling, overtime and weekend work.
  3. Plans and implements a Preventative Maintenance schedule for all processes.
  4. Interfaces with suppliers to coordinate action on failure issues on parts and services.
  5. Reports, tracks, and trends critical monthly maintenance data: major equipment downtime, monthly equipment efficiency measures (MTTR & MTBF), total uptime, staff utilization, etc.
  6. Ensures maintenance records are properly filed and maintained.
  7. Ensures compliance with all Product Safety Procedure requirements.
  8. Keeps abreast of current technology and developments related to area of expertise.
  9. Provides training to staff as well as other employees on the proper safety and use of equipment.
  10. Performs his/her job within acceptable safety, environmental, quality, productivity and performance standards as outlined in plant policies, handbooks and applicable work instructions
  11. Understands and adhere to current health, safety, and environmental policies (ISO14001). Is empowered to identify, stop, and communicate or escalate appropriate action regarding safety, health, and environmental concerns.
  12. Understands current quality policies and procedures (IATF 16949). Is empowered to identify, stop, and communicate or escalate appropriate action regarding product quality.
  13. Ensures compliance with all Product Safety Procedure requirements; fully understands and ensures compliance with Product Safety Escalation Process.
  14. Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

MANDATORY KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance or a related discipline preferred.

Five years’ experience with trouble shooting and correcting equipment failures.

Five years of supervising skilled trade’s technicians.

Electrical and mechanical knowledge necessary to perform repairs on a variety of equipment using specific hand and power tools as related to trade and/or area of specialty. 

In-depth knowledge of complex commercial and institutional maintenance procedures, including basic electricity, energy management, and pneumatic control systems.

Physical ability to lift moderately heavy equipment, and to carry tools, parts and supplies up and down ladders, vertical accesses and steps.

Courteous, cooperative relations when interacting with other personnel and the public.

Thorough knowledge of shop mathematics and blueprint reading skills.

Analytical ability necessary to perform calculations, interpret data from blueprints and manuals, diagnose problems with equipment and solve problems.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.  Statistical evaluation software familiarity a plus.

Working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical components

Must be able to work in a team orientated environment.
