Brown & Brown is seeking a Senior Placement Analyst to join our Commercial Lines Marketing team based out of Portland, Oregon!
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Determine the appropriate markets to be approached for assigned accounts
- Directly assist executives and producers in market selections
- Obtain and analyze quotations and declinations from various insurance companies
- Negotiate pricing and coverage terms
- Prepare high quality and accurate proposals for presentations
- Monitor, identify, and develop new methods, new markets, and new opportunities
- Calculate figures and provide oversight to trace, correct, and adjust errors
- Maintain good relations with carrier personnel
- Regularly work on the more challenging accounts within the department
- Keep current on marketplace changes and inform commercial team as necessary
- Become significantly involved and develop expertise in a declared sector(s) or market area(s) by networking and participating in professional development activities
- Maintain appropriate level of confidentially of information processed
- Be primary point of contact for up to 5 carriers or finance company partners to be determined by employee and department leader
- Duties are done independently or in a team environment
- Assist in the training of new marketing and production teammates
- Assist department leader with special projects as needed
- Help to facilitate team workflow and project management in conjunction with the department leader
- Other duties or special projects may be assigned
WHAT YOU''LL NEED:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent with five (5) years of experience in a similar position, or high school graduate with a minimum of ten (10) years of related experience; other combination of work and/or education will be considered
- Professional designation, such as CPCU, CIC, CRM, ARM, AINS or equivalent
- Demonstrates clear knowledge of commercial insurance coverage and standard industry offerings
- Familiarity with the appetite, coverage, programs, and guidelines of property & casualty insurance carriers
- Superior negotiation skills
- Excellent inter-personal and relationship building abilities
- Fluent with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams
- Proficient with AMS360 and ImageRight
