The Multidisciplinary Integrated Systems Department (MISD) supports Raytheon by providing world class technical expertise and engineering leadership to drive the design and development of world-class Air and Missile Defense Systems, Sensors, and Effectors. We lead all aspects of Systems Engineering that drive the development of complex systems to support Raytheon’s Land and Air Defense Systems business area from our Huntsville, AL location. Our Systems Engineers solve technical challenges at the System of System (SoS), System, Subsystem, and Component levels.
This is an Onsite role in Huntsville, AL.
What You will Do
The individual will perform Systems Engineering activities on one or more of our many programs.
Support programs which may include: Patriot, Air and Missile Defense Capability (AMDC), Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS), Radar Development Contract (RDC), Standard Missile, and other sensor or effector programs.
The individual will be responsible for developing requirements, systems architecture and design, updating and maintaining Interface definitions & description documents and radar systems engineering
Collaborating with other stakeholders such as customers and engineers from inside and outside of Raytheon.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five (5) years of prior relevant experience
Experience with Missile Defense Systems or other related systems engineering experience
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related STEM degree
Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience
Experience working with MATLAB (including object-oriented programming), Python, C/C++, Java or DOORS
Experience with system and sub-system level requirements development, documentation and maintenance and/or requirements development and design of system level software architecture
Experience with system concepts; detection, discrimination, track and signal processing algorithms and their behaviors and performance
Experience with the development and coding of system models, algorithms, test vectors and evaluation tools in support of analyzing radar requirements and performance
Strong written and verbal communications skills & working with other disciplines communicating at all levels and stakeholders
Modeling & Simulation development experience & data analysis
Experience with the software development process using Agile Methodologies and tooling, including JIRA and Confluence
