About the role

Company Description

If you’re an experienced Business Developer with previous expertise in power trading or flexibility management and preferably with previous exposure to batteries or hydrogen, you can start a career with Statkraft that helps to solve the climate crisis. By joining the Southern European Origination team, you will help navigate Statkraft through the challenges of the liberalized markets and related regulations, seeking out opportunities to develop and grow new business initiatives. This position will drive the potential of renewable energy and make a positive impact on our planet.

Why Statkraft?

Statkraft has been making clean energy possible for over a century. That’s what we offer. 125 years of unrivalled expertise in supplying the world with what it needs most. We envision a world that runs entirely on renewable energy. Because in the fight against climate change, we don’t see renewable energy as part of the solution – we believe it must be the solution. With us, you’ll shape a career that is truly forward-facing with many amazing opportunities and offerings to match.

But there’s more work to be done – that’s why we need you to join us.

Working in Italy, Origination

Statkraft has been active as a power trader in Italy for more than 20 years. In 2020 we opened an office in Milan as part of much bigger plans for our activities in Italy. We develop, own, and operate renewable power production facilities, and are also involved in the trading and origination of power, gas, and renewable certificates from our own projects and those of third parties.

As part of the Origination department in Statkraft´s global Markets business area, we provide bespoke risk management, revenue optimisation and green power solutions to large external wholesale customers. We have grown to be the market leading provider of Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) to new wind and solar projects in Italy in 2022. In addition, we provide bespoke structured power supply solutions to large power consumers, such as corporates, industrials or data centres, as well as power retail companies.

The energy market is quickly transforming with new technologies entering the market such as batteries and hydrogen. Flexibility will play a key part in managing the intermittency of renewables generation and, at heart, Statkraft is a storage and flexibility optimisation business.
