Principal Mainframe Engineer

Job Description

As a Principal Mainframe, Engineer, you will implement, enhance, and maintain ATPCO's mainframe environment and supporting products. You will work with the z/OS operating system and be an integral member of the Core Platform Engineering team that oversees the reliability, availability, security, and continuity of the core business mainframe environment.

You Will:

• Implement, administer, and troubleshoot IBM utilities
• Manage the administration of z/OS operating systems and supporting products
• Handle the implementation and administration of BMS’s Control-M suite of products
• Support the administration of IBM’s System Managed Storage (SMS) and Unix System Services
• Focus on the implementation and administration of $AVRS sysout archival tool
• Implement and support BMC’s MainView monitoring suite
• Implement and support (VTAM, TCP/IP, FTP, TN3270, Tivoli Netview, Secure Zip) and other network products and functions
• Utilize ServiceNow, Splunk On-Call, and Jira for project and task tracking

The Ideal Candidate:

• Prior experience with advanced z/OS administration, automation, performance, capacity analysis, networking, and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of Control-M implementation, administration, and troubleshooting
• Experience with IBM SMP/E
• Experience with REXX scripting language
• Experience with SAS, MXG, Tivoli Decision Support
• In-depth knowledge of JCL
• Familiarity supporting a 24/7 enterprise environment
• Is insatiably curious and likes to learn new innovative technologies
