Summary
The Hennepin County Attorney's Office (HCAO) is seeking to fill is seeking to fill a Principal Administrative Assistant position within the Domestic Abuse Service Center (DASC). DASC is designed to provide victims of domestic violence with ready access to the legal assistance and social services they need. The center offers a full range of services to domestic abuse victims and their families - including help with getting orders for protection, as well as assistance in formulating safety plans and finding temporary housing.
Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at the Hennepin County Government Center located at 300 South 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55487 and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.

In this position, you will:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Domestic Abuse Service Center; develop and revise the work unit procedures and monitor staff caseloads to assure equitable distribution.
- Respond to and resolve organizational and interdepartmental issues.
- Manage and supervise multi-functional partnerships with Hennepin County Attorney's Office, Hennepin County District Court, Minneapolis Police Department., Hennepin County Probation, Minneapolis City Attorney's Office, Hennepin County Sheriff's Office and community agencies.
- Work directly with the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office to ensure safety provisions for staff and clients of DASC.
- Provide training and participate in discussion at both local and national levels regarding domestic violence issues for advocates, prosecutors, judges, and community domestic violence programs.
- Provide supervision of domestic abuse advocates, professional and support staff.
- Make and recommend decisions related to hiring, evaluations, and discipline for DASC staff.
- Manage the HCAO community agencies' contracts and assist with monitoring revenue and expenditures.
- Solicit vendor proposals and assist in proposal preparations.
- Attend and participate in multi-disciplinary committees on best practices for working with domestic violence victims in Hennepin County.
- One of the following:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration or other field appropriate to the position and five years or more of experience related to the position.
- Note: Experience in general administrative work related to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.

- Knowledge of the dynamics of victimization, criminal justice system, counseling techniques, and community resources.

- Strong analytical and organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail; initiative in problem resolution, identification of customer needs, and continuous process improvement.
