The position:
We are looking for a trained and experienced product designer with excellent interaction- and user experience design skills. Someone who loves to get their hands on a powerful development tool, highly motivated to make software application development a breeze. Do you fit that profile and have a proven track record of designing and shipping digital products or services? 
As a product designer, you are responsible for larger or smaller parts of the product experience. The position requires you to collaborate with multiple other disciplines, such as product managers, software developers, researchers, and other designers.We expect you to be a digger for true user needs. A thoughtful and detail-oriented creator. Your solutions are the kind that our software engineers love to get their hands on. You are able to look beyond a single feature and see the bigger picture of the part you work on, and you don’t hesitate to collaborate with those responsible for the other parts to ensure consistent and complete user experiences.

About the AppDev unit
You’ll be part of the AppDev unit that is responsible for the core Mendix product: Studio Pro. This is the powerful Low Code IDE(integrated development environment) that enables organizations, teams, and individuals to build applications fast and efficient. In AppDev, we work in cross-disciplinary teams and groups. But we’re also organized by our core capabilities(PM, Design, Development).  You’ll join the AppDev Design team, consisting of product designers, service designers, and UX researchers.
About the Mendix Design Community
The AppDev Designers are part of the larger Mendix design community that is distributed across several units in Rotterdam, Boston, and Pune, with many UX disciplines. From user experience research and service design to brand and product design, the Mendix design team is filled with creatives focused on elevating the user experience across our products. We are proud to be a diverse team and believe that cross-disciplinary co-creation is the key to our success. Our toolset includes Miro, Figjam, Figma, and Dropbox Paper when planning and conducting our work. 

Who you are/requirements

• 5+ years of experience in designing digital products - as a Product Designer.
• Thorough understanding of human-centered design process and methodologies.
• Thorough understanding of first principles of software development and computational concepts.
• A proven track record of shipped products with a strong interaction design sensibility.
• Highly skilled in preferably Figma, otherwise equivalent tool.
• Knowledge of web(HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and mobile(iOS, Android, cross-platform) development is a plus.
