Associate Director, Client Strategy - Clinical Care
RVO HealthAbout the role
AT A GLANCE
As the Associate Director, Client Strategy - Clinical Care, you will be the strategic lead for our most complex and high-visibility partnerships. This role is designed for a leader who excels at navigating large-scale healthcare ecosystems and building trust with senior stakeholders. You will bridge the gap between our Clinical, Product, and Growth teams, ensuring our partners see the tangible clinical impact and seamless integration of our digital weight health solutions.
Where You'll Be
To prioritize togetherness, culture, and accountability, RVO Health operates on a hybrid in-office work schedule. We expect employees to work from our Minneapolis office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week. You are welcome to work remotely Mondays and Fridays if you wish.
Address: 11000 Optum Cir Eden Prairie, MN 55344
What You’ll Do
- Strategic Client Lead: Act as the primary consultant for a portfolio of high-priority clients (Health Plans, Health Systems, and Fortune 500 Employers) as well as a "Strategic Thought Partner" for internal Operations, serving as the frontline point of contact for clinical client needs.
- Data Synthesis & Storytelling: Analyze complex client data sets to identify trends. You will own the creation of high-impact business value assessments and quarterly business review decks that translate raw metrics into a compelling narrative of clinical and financial success.
- Relationship & Communications Leadership: Support and at times lead high-stakes communications, including Joint Operating Committees (JOCs) and senior leadership briefings. Manage regular agendas, and business value assessments that articulate program success and ROI.
- Growth Operations & Strategy: Own the long-term health and expansion of your accounts. You will proactively identify opportunities for program growth and retention. Partner with internal teams to identify expansion opportunities and turn client feedback into actionable insights for our Product and Clinical roadmaps.
- The "Balanced" Advocate: Master the art of the "thoughtful no." You will advocate fiercely for the client while protecting internal operational bandwidth, ensuring we deliver on every promise without over-extending resources.
- Operational Excellence: Maintain a deep "insider" knowledge of client organizations—navigating org charts, understanding competitor footprints, and mastering contract nuances to drive retention and growth.
- End-to-End Partnership Management: Serve as the primary operational lead throughout the client journey. Partnering with Sales to transition the account, supporting the implementation and launch phases, and providing high-touch day-to-day support post-launch to ensure long-term program stability and client satisfaction.
- Cross-Functional Delivery Leadership: Partner with critical internal stakeholders—including Clinical Operations, Product, and Marketing to deliver a seamless experience for the client, acting as the central hub for troubleshooting and ensuring the program is successfully integrated into the client’s existing benefits ecosystem.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 6+ years in Client Services, Account Management, or Strategic Partnerships within Digital Health, Health Plans, or Clinical Services. Demonstrated success managing the end-to-end client journey, from pre-launch implementation to long-term account health.
- Industry Expertise: Proven track record of managing partnerships with commercial payers, hospital systems, or specialty clinics. Familiarity with the metabolic/weight health landscape is a significant plus.
- Growth & Retention Mindset: A proven track record of maintaining high client retention through proactive problem-solving and a consultative approach to account expansion. You aren’t a "hard-closer," but an expert at identifying unmet client needs and positioning our solutions to drive deeper program integration.
- Analytical Proficiency: Exceptional ability to interpret client data and synthesize it into persuasive, client-facing materials. You should be a power user of PowerPoint/Google Slides and comfortable with data visualization.
- High-Stakes Communication: You are known for quick, thoughtful, and professional responses with polish. You can handle "push-back" gracefully and maintain trust under pressure. Whether it's a Slack message to an internal stakeholder or a high-stakes email to a Medical Director, your communication is always proactive, clear, and professional
- Agile Mindset: Experience in growth-stage
