A little bit about the role:
Reporting to the CFO, as a Transformation Leader, you will spearhead major change initiatives across the organization, aligning with strategic objectives to drive operational improvements, enhance customer experiences, and foster innovation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external stakeholders to plan, execute, and monitor transformation programs.
You will be expected to have deep expertise in change management, project management, and communication, ensuring that transformation initiatives are effectively implemented and adopted across the organization. This role will be working hybrid out of either our Sterling, VA office or Ottawa, ON office.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and Execute Transformation Strategy:
- Define goals and key outcomes for transformation initiatives in line with the organization’s strategic objectives.
- Facilitate thorough assessments of current processes, structures, and operations to identify areas for improvement with functional leaders and cross-functional leadership team.
- Create a roadmap for transformation, outlining critical milestones, resources, timelines, and metrics for success.
- Leadership and Change Management:
- Lead cross-functional teams to implement transformation initiatives, ensuring smooth collaboration across departments.
- Engage stakeholders to ensure alignment, commitment, and accountability throughout the transformation process.
- Serve as a change agent, fostering a culture of innovation, adaptability, and continuous improvement.
- Project Management and Execution:
- Manage the end-to-end process of transformation projects, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and execution.
- Identify potential risks, roadblocks, and challenges, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Use data and insights to monitor the progress of transformation efforts and adjust strategies as needed.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
- Develop and implement a communication plan to keep key stakeholders informed of progress, successes, and potential issues.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership, presenting insights, KPIs, and the overall impact of the transformation to ORBCOMM’s employees.
- Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Foster a culture that embraces innovation and operational excellence.
- Continuously assess the effectiveness of transformation initiatives and recommend adjustments to sustain improvements.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, Information Technology, or a related field (master’s preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in leading large-scale transformation and change management initiatives.
- Proven experience in project management, including managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Experience working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and inspire teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Expertise in change management methodologies.
- High proficiency in project management tools and software.
