Boom Truck Assistant Overview

As the Boom Truck Assistant, you will work as a member of a team to safely and effectively make deliveries to end-user consumers using a boom truck. A typical day includes auditing the loaded truck, assisting the Boom Operator by navigating to an assigned route, assisting in off-loading drywall from crane through various entry points at job site, interacting with customers, digitally completing delivery paperwork, and unloading any remaining items at the end of your shift. You will be paired with a Boom Operator, who will help with loading and unloading deliveries.  The day-to-day includes receiving the drywall material and pulling it into a location, and then distributing the drywall material throughout the property.  The team will utilize drywall carts and other accessories to support the delivery.

Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced work environment and can multitask, meet deadlines, and reliably work with little supervision. Boom Truck Assistants regularly pick up and carry material weighing more than 75 pounds and interface with clients, customers, and co-workers daily. The position is currently supporting a Monday – Friday operation, although, Boom Truck Assistants must be available to work early shifts, overtime, and on weekends and holidays, based on client needs.

Responsibilities

(include, but are not limited to)

  • Deliver material weighing over 150 pounds as part of a two-person team
  • Safely load, secure, and deliver products on behalf of the client
  • Assist the Boom Operator by identifying and avoiding safety obstacles with navigating daily routes
  • Use technology to communicate with customers about delivery status and time estimates, complete delivery paperwork, and set directions for route
  • Use customer service skills to communicate with customers and client representatives
  • Report with a clean uniform, clean appearance, driver’s license, and company ID badge daily
  • Teach / train newer employees on daily operations and support fellow team members to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner and to the highest standard       

 Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Able to pass a comprehensive background check, MVR, and drug screen
  • Able to safely walk, bend, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel regularly each day
  • Can lift and carry more than 150 pounds regularly
  • Reliable and punctual with dedicated professionalism to job and duties
  • Customer service skills and ability to work well with others
  • Must be able to work a schedule that begins early in the morning and continues until the route is completed
  • Available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime
