Position Overview
The Assistant Director, Financial Aid in the Financial Aid Department reporting to the Associate Director, Financial Aid is responsible for successfully awarding all sources of financial aid both to incoming and returning graduate students while remaining in compliance with all federal and state regulations. This position will also process loans, reconcile funds and provide great customer service to both internal and external customers. Must have strong oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities
Assist with awarding of federal, state, and private sources of financial aid for both incoming and returning graduate students.
Counsel prospective and returning graduate students on all aspects of financial aid.
Perform Verification for selected students and review other documents required based on ISIR processing, to ensure compliance with Title IV regulations.
Monitor and keep up with changes in graduate aid funding, processing, or regulations
Assist with private and federal loan processing for both graduate and undergraduate students, and follow-up as needed.
Reconciliation of federal and private loan funds on a monthly basis to ensure all awarded funds have been received, and all received funds have been transferred to the correct student’s account
Represent the Financial Aid Department and provide presentations if needed at various college-related functions both virtual and in person
Support the Undergraduate Financial Aid team with coverage of counseling and other duties during busy times or vacations, as needed.
Support the Associate Director of Student Employment as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Community Engagement
Be an active participant in the life of the College by attending and supporting key events like Commencement, Homecoming, and other all-hands-on-deck gatherings. Show a spirit of collaboration and community involvement, including volunteering when possible.

Reports to the Associate Director of Financial Aid. Works under general supervision.
