About the role

Overview

The Managing Director, DCSEU is responsible for executive management, leadership, and oversight of DCSEU service delivery, strategic planning, marketing, policy, and public affairs. The Managing Director, DCSEU, will have primary responsibility for the development, execution, and oversight of agreements with the District of Columbia and will serve to ensure that DCSEU goals and objectives are successfully achieved. This position has the opportunity to lead high-impact solutions for the businesses and residents of DC, seeing the value of our services to our neighbors, family, and friends, while also paving the way for our innovative solutions to be replicated across the country. 

 

The DCSEU is a division of VEIC, a non-profit organization dedicated to generating the energy solutions the world needs. Our team has developed a reputation for leading the way, with high-impact energy solutions that are decarbonizing the world’s buildings, transportation, and utility grids right here, right now. This position will be a member of the VEIC Senior Leadership Team, actively collaborating to ensure alignment with overall strategic objectives.

 

Location:

This position must reside in Washington, D.C.. It is a hybrid role with the expectation to be in the DC office at least 2 days/week as needed for staff, client engagement, etc.

 

Compensation:

At VEIC, we are committed to pay transparency. The starting pay range for this position will be between $210,000 - 225,000 annually. Based on market data, pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and location. Please discuss your intended work location with the recruiter for more information. The total compensation package for this position also includes a full range of medical benefits, 403(b) eligibility with match, Combined Time Off (CTO), Care and Concern leave, Parental leave, well-being benefit, a community service day, and nine paid holidays that are effective as of your first day of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and is accountable for the achievement of DCSEU program goals, objectives, milestones, and metrics and leads the development of agreements with the District of Columbia and other contracting organizations.
  • Collaborates with the CEO, Chief Growth and Impact Officer, and the Senior Leadership Team to ensure alignment of DCSEU’s strategic direction with VEIC’s strategic direction.
  • Directly supervises, mentors, and leads the DCSEU Leadership Team, which is responsible for marketing, communications, operations, finance, and public affairs.
  • Directs, manages and leads DCSEU staff (both directly and through other supervisors) in all aspects of their work.
  • Ensures that the mission, products, programs, and services of DCSEU are consistently presented in a strong, positive way to relevant stakeholders and serves as the official spokesperson for DCSEU.
  • Responsible for external stakeholder management, to include the client, DOEE, as well as the Advisory Council, Mayor’s office, and other strategic key partners that influence overall impact of the DCSEU programs.
  • Primary responsibility for resource allocation decisions for meeting budgets and goals, including the development and execution of annual planning and budgeting processes.
  • Supports activities of other staff, departments, and divisions within VEIC as necessary to accomplish organizational goals and objectives.
  • Employs excellent leadership skills and dedicated commitment to the pursuit of VEIC's mission, vision, and core values.
  • Other responsibilities as requested.

Qualifications

  • Strong personal commitment to the mission, vision, goals and values of VEIC and to the work VEIC is doing in the District of Columbia.
