Supplier Account Manager – Mechanical – Cambridge, MA | Nashville, TN | Bothell, WA
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Supplier Account Manager – Mechanical to join our Procurement team. This role plays a critical part in driving supplier performance, building strong partnerships, and aligning supplier strategies with business objectives in the mechanical category such as mechatronics, sheet metal assemblies, machining, and castings. You will operate with limited supervision and take ownership of supplier relationships, performance scorecards, and risk mitigation plans.
Your role:
Manage global supplier relationships across assigned categories, developing and executing category-specific strategies, leading negotiations, and ensuring alignment with business goals. Monitor and drive supplier collaboration projects to align with business priorities and ensure value delivery and conduct risk and compliance assessments for key suppliers are also key aspects of this role.
Track and enhance supplier performance using the Global Supplier Rating System (GSRS), integrating cross-functional feedback and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Drive supplier collaboration and innovation, identifying opportunities for value creation, cost savings, and aligning supplier capabilities with company investment and technology roadmaps.
Ensure compliance and risk management by conducting regular assessments, developing mitigation plans, and supporting audit readiness and governance efforts.
Promote operational excellence through LEAN practices, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principles, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize procurement impact.
You're the right fit if:
You’ve acquired 5+ years of experience in similar roles of procurement category management within mechanical category, leveraging supplier and market insights to align investment and innovation themes with company needs, while fostering collaboration and communication across internal stakeholders to support supplier alignment and performance.
Your skills include the ability to identify opportunities for cost savings and innovation by optimizing supplier capabilities and engagements, root cause analysis and actionable mitigation plans, scouting new providers, negotiating focusing on bringing productivity up. Risk and compliance management as well as KPI monitoring and reporting. Understanding technical drawings is a must for the role.
You have a Bachelor’s degree in Engeneering or similar technical areas.

How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
