Maintenance Technician

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:To perform both electrical and mechanical work involving installation, maintenance and repairs of plant equipment. To maintain, install, and repair production and facility equipment. Construct and install, support equipment to production areas.AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Repair and maintain all production equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical machine malfunctions and operating difficulties.
- Implement repairs and adjustments on machines.
- Make emergency repairs to limit excessive downtime and production delays.
- Make periodic preventative maintenance checks and lubricate all production machinery.
- Assist in building equipment parts and experimental machines to work order specifications.
- Assist in coordinating material requisitions needed for projects.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- A High School diploma, Trade School or Military training preferred.
- 1+ years’ mechanical maintenance experience
- Prior work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as design drawings, blueprints, safety guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
- Ability to work afternoons long term
- No corrective actions or performance improvement plans within six (6) months of the job posting opening date
- No decision-making leaves within 12 months of the job posting opening date
- Most recent performance rating achieves or higher
- Successfully completed six (6) months in current job bid classification OR current career advancement classification.
- Basic knowledge of business processes.
- Mechanical skills, welding skills (stick and wire feed), print reading, etc.
- Skills in attention to detail and accuracy.
- Skills with written and verbal communication.
- Skills in using drill press, torches, hand tools, cut off saw, iron worker, etc.
- Ability to obtain forklift and company Vehicle Driver’s licenses.
Compensation Range: $23.91-$44.42
