What we are looking for in you
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented High-Throughput Screening Manager to join our team. This position will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our automation production processes, with a focus on the following responsibilities:
What you will be doing
- Team Management: Manage, mentor, and guide a small team of automation engineers and RAs, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.
- Leadership: Bring leadership from your past experience in the laboratory automation space, and provide knowledge and expertise spanning a wide range of hardware, software, and automation solutions.
- Run Planning/Scheduling: Collaborate with the product team to ensure the timely planning and scheduling of automation production runs, aligning with product needs and requirements.
- New Process Intake: Work closely with the product team to gather specifications, required assays and screening protocols, chemicals, and other necessary information from internal "customers."
- New Process Work-Flow Integration: Lead the integration of new automation processes and workflows, optimizing production capabilities and efficiency.
- Run Execution: Oversee and manage the execution of automation production runs, ensuring that processes are carried out efficiently and effectively.
- SOP and Execution Optimization: Work closely with the Automation Development and Biology Teams to regularly review and optimize standard operating procedures (SOPs) and execution processes to maximize productivity and quality, ensuring seamless tracking and communication of production progress.
- Materials Tracking and Management: Oversee the tracking, management, and procurement of materials, while maintaining strong vendor relations and seeking cost reduction opportunities.
- Data Stream Management and Optimization: Manage and optimize data streams related to automation production, ensuring accurate and accessible information for informed decision-making.
- Vendor Collaboration: Collaborate with vendors to source necessary tools and equipment and forge relationships that result in rapid support, leveraging external expertise.
- Lab Environment: Contribute to and maintain a safe, efficient, and organized lab environment.
What you must have
- Strong understanding of automation processes, workflow optimization, and best practices.
- Technical knowledge of various HTS and automation equipment, including Tecan, Hamilton, Agilent, Echo, and Beckman.
- Experience integrating automation systems with LIMS, with 3+ years working with LIMS systems for sample tracking and metadata recording.
- Proven experience in project management, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Proficient in relevant software tools and applications related to production management and data analysis.
- Prior experience managing a team of engineers, preferably in automation or a related field.
What you should have
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in HTS, automation production or a similar role.
