We are looking for:
- The HSE Engineer participates in all HSE functions throughout the plant site. Responsible for working with all levels of plant personnel. This role will focus on Safety, Health, and Environmental programs.
We count on you for:
- Responsible for conducting periodic HSE training including New Hire Orientation.
- Responsible for working with all levels of plant personnel and advising them of the site's policy and compliance obligations.
- Conduct Safe Work Permit training and measure performance for SWP-authorized signers.
- Facilitate incident investigations for departments and ensure all preventative/corrective actions are assigned and completed promptly.
- Ability to interact with State and Federal agencies to ensure compliance.
- Perform periodic inspections to ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures. Including but not limited to Storm water, hazardous waste, Life Safety, SPCC, etc.
- Manage site HSE program to ensure compliance with corporate standards (Life-Saving Rules) and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in and/or lead risk assessments (JSA’s or Pre-Task Plans) on processes or new equipment.
- Lead/manage implementation and coordination of HSE Management systems (RC14001) and measure their effectiveness against annual metrics.
- Assist in promoting the site’s Safety Observation program.
- Facilitate monthly Safety Committee meetings and help manage action items that are distributed to various departments and subcommittees.
- Champion the site's Environmental program to ensure compliance with legislative, corporate, and industry requirements including but not limited to RCRA, NESHAP, Storm water, Tier II, TRI, and industrial wastewater.
- Assist the HSE Manager to continuously improve leadership, programs/tools, and services necessary to operate safely and responsibly thereby ensuring the physical well-being of all employees and persons who enter the plant site.
- Willingness to travel and keep a flexible schedule based on factory needs.
- Manage the site Radiation Safety program (RSO).
- Perform routine shop floor walks throughout the shift to ensure Safety concerns and regulatory requirements are being adhered to.
- Other duties as assigned by the HSE manager.
You will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupation Health & Safety, Engineering, or equivalent (Preferred)
- Strong regulatory knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Radiation Safety
