Responsibilities

Coordinates the day- to - day activities with twenty-four (24) hour accountability for the Sterile Processing department. Works independently alongside the manager to lead the supervisors and staff in providing Surgical Services and numerous other areas within the organization with sterile instrumentation and supplies as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Five (5) years sterile processing or related field experience with demonstrated knowledge of instrument sterilization techniques, Sterile Processing policies and procedures, purchasing activities, and surgical procedures. Or Three (3) years experience as Surgical Technologist or Registered Nurse operating room experience.
• Demonstrated ability to set priorities and make appropriate supervisory decisions. Must possess good problem solving skills.
• One (1) year or more Sterile Processing or related field supervisory experience.

 

PREFERRED:

• Two (2) year or greater college degree
• National certification in specialty.
