The Student Wellness Center empowers students to make informed decisions regarding their health and wellness by providing evidence-based education, inclusive resources, and non-judgmental support. We offer an extensive collection of resources and information about various health and wellness topics.
Job Overview
The University of Cincinnati Student Wellness Center (SWC) is looking for qualified individuals to apply for the key leadership position at the Student Wellness Center and join our energetic and collaborative team to lead student wellness, health education, prevention and awareness efforts on our campus.
Essential Functions
- Direct, design, and manage the Health & Wellness Education programming within the Student Wellness Center.
- Plan, develop, implement, and direct the administrative and programming activities of the Student Wellness Center.
- Make recommendations regarding the health and wellness needs of the student population and coordinate campus-wide efforts to address these needs.
- Develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate campus health promotion initiatives.
- Collect and analyze information and make decisions to resolve complex problems.
- Oversee and provide training to student workers, interns and volunteers.
- Develop and administer office budget.
- Act as liaison representing the office on a variety of university and community committees.
- May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Required Education
Master’s Degree
Required Experience
- Five (5) years of increasing administrative experience.
- Three (3) years supervision.
Additional Qualifications Considered
- Doctoral degree in public health, health education, social work, higher education and student affairs, women’s/gender studies, or a related field.
- CHES/MCHES certified.
- Related experience working with health and wellness issues in higher education systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of contemporary best practices and research in health and wellness promotion and prevention.
- Experience in an organization developing and implementing a strategic plan to meet specified goals.
- Excellent project management skills: ability and willingness to manage flexible workload, multiple tasks, and to work occasional evening and weekend hours.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Experience and commitment to public health and social justice change models.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and work effectively with students, faculty, and administrative constituencies.
- Experience working with a variety of social media platforms.
- Experience or demonstrated knowledge of developing educational materials and programming related to systemic discrimination and violence in a campus environment.

Compensation and Benefits
