The calendar team is responsible for creating the next-generation calendar and notepad experience, along with the supporting infrastructure, to help users effortlessly manage their daily lives.

You are passionate about growing your skills and value high quality BE development on modern tech stack and cloud. You will be designing and implementing the next generation calendar infrastructure and services. We are embarking on a transition from Yahoo data centers to Public cloud infrastructure. Work on a complete Java stack that serves hundreds of billions of transactions daily. Develop and maintain REST web-services that power Yahoo clients, Caldav protocol services, Caching and data processing services. Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership to engineers in fast-paced environment
Drive design reviews, code reviews, continuous integration and test driven development
Drive technical excellence and implementation of best engineering practices
Lead hands-on implementation work to keep current with technology trends inside and outside Yahoo
Build and deliver high quality and high performance features for our users on calendar BE Platform.
Collaborate with frontend team, product managers, and other engineers to deliver new features, enhancements, platform improvements and bug fixes
Collaborate with other engineers to write testable, reliable code, continuously deploying to production systems
Deploy, monitor and operate large scale production systems distributed across the globe.
Analyze and optimize application/platform code and/or APIs for efficiency and performance
Growing in a culture of learning through design discussions and code reviews
Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science (or equivalent) with 6+ year’s experience
Experience with OOP: C++, Java, C#, or similar
Experience with web servers like Tomcat/Apache/Jetty, Kubernetes framework, TestNG framework
Strong foundation in Computer Science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design
Experience in software development domain and principles, including design patterns, code structure, programming languages, continuous integration, and deployment architecture
Experience with debugging multi-threaded high scale web applications
Experience with scripting languages such as PHP, Perl, Python, and/or Ruby
