Weapons Systems Consultant (5710)

As Weapons Systems Consultant, you’ll will provide strategic guidance and oversight for Air Force resourcing strategies within the Maintenance Portfolio, ensuring alignment with DoD budgetary priorities. The ideal candidate will integrate resources across the sustainment enterprise, coordinating with Program Element Monitors (PEMs) and ensuring compliance with Congressional and Legislative resourcing requirements.

What you’ll do:

• You will lead the review and refinement of Air Force resourcing strategies, working closely with key stakeholders to optimize funding allocations within the WSS portfolio.
• You will coordinate across the Maintenance Enterprise to enable seamless integration of sustainment resources, ensuring alignment with long-term Air Force priorities and Congressional mandates.
• You will provide expert guidance on Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) processes, supporting POM development and advocating for strategic funding decisions at the enterprise level.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• An active Top-Secret security clearance
• 10+ years of experience in DoD program POM planning and development and PPBE
• Expertise level of experience in collaborating with stakeholders across MAJCOMs, System Program Offices (SPOs), and Air Force Corporate Panels.
• Knowledge and experience collaborating with stakeholders and Program Element Monitors (PEM) supporting the WSS Portfolio and other programs aligned to the Maintenance Enterprise and mission.
• Knowledge and experience required of Air Force resourcing requirements and alignment with Congressional and Legislative affairs.
