The Margaret M. and Albert B. Alkek Department of Medicine is the largest adult practice department at Baylor College of Medicine. Summary
The Section of Geriatrics and Palliative Care at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a part time geriatrician to provide geriatrics consultative and co-management inpatient care at Ben Taub Hospital including call responsibility. As a member of the Baylor College of Medicine, you are expected to role-model and teach exceptional compassionate evidence-based care. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in clinical care and at least one additional area of focus- research, quality improvement, social justice, ethics, education, or other area.
Job Duties
- Provide medical care to adults in the inpatient care setting. Supervise residents, medical students, and other learners as needed.
- Coordinate with outpatient care teams for safe discharge of patients.
- Participate in any team meetings. Work with the team to develop the appropriate order sets and procedures that are needed.
- Contribute to quality improvement and research projects. Collaborate nationally with known leaders in the field. Keep up with continuing medical education as per college and section requirements.
- Renewing and meeting all required licenses and certification requirements.
- Familiarize with EPIC- electronic medical records and document all patient encounters as needed.
- Complete all documentation in a timely manner so that billing and other administrative tasks can happen smoothly to ensure a robust operational system.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education Requirement: MD, DO; Board Certified or board eligible.
- Licensure Requirement: Licensed by the Texas Medical Board.
