Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking is seeking a Senior Ground Loads Engineer located in Hazelwood, MO.

As a member of the BDS Air Dominance Loads & Dynamics Team, you will be part of the larger BDS Flight Systems Engineering Capability team that is directly supporting production and development of aircraft such as F-15, F/A-18, T-7A, MQ-25, and proprietary vehicle programs. The L&D team is looking for an individual with experience in ground loads.

Your expertise in areas such as Aerodynamics; Propulsion; Guidance, Navigation & Control; and Loads & Dynamics will drive the future of aerospace.

The Flight Systems Engineering Capability is an exciting organization in Boeing Defense, Space & Security responsible for performing Flight Engineering across a large portfolio of products and development programs. Product areas within the Flight Systems Capability in the St. Louis region include Fighter Aircraft, Unmanned Aircraft, and Missiles/Weapons Systems. Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads in developing air vehicle design criteria for ground loads
  • Collaborates with the airframe & subsystems design and analysis engineers to generate integrated aerodynamic, structural, and landing gear models for flight vehicle analysis consistent with a Model Based Engineering (MBE) environment
  • Performs ground loads analyses (ground handling, taxi, takeoff & landing, etc.) to support air vehicle design and stores integration
  • Defines allowable flight envelopes and operational limits
  • Develops flight and ground test plans
  • Creates finite element and multi-body dynamics models and correlates to test results
  • Executes ground and flight test programs by the development of test requirements, providing data for pre-test analysis, monitoring testing, data analysis and documenting results, in order to support design and verification of vehicle and components
  • Reviews and approves airframe and subsystems hardware packages for airworthiness and to ensure the air vehicle meets the service environment
  • Provides data to support the definition and documentation of structural design requirements for the service life of the product, to ensure company, customer and regulatory requirements are met
  • Presents engineering to management and customers during program level reviews and other technical meetings
    This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
