Central Lab Histology Manager – Full-Time – Weekday Shifts
Location: Irving, TX
Salary Range: Up to $110,000 (based on experience)
Sign-On Bonus: $15,000
Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis
Schedule: Monday – Friday (Shift varies)
A state-of-the-art central laboratory supporting a large regional healthcare network is seeking an experienced Histology Manager to lead its histology operations. This leadership opportunity is ideal for a seasoned lab professional ready to elevate their career in a fast-paced, collaborative, and mission-driven environment focused on delivering high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day histology operations including staffing, workflow, compliance, and quality assurance
Develop and manage training, competency, and performance evaluation programs
Ensure ongoing regulatory compliance (CAP, CLIA, JCAHO, CMS)
Partner with the Medical Director and Division Director to meet lab performance and operational goals
Implement continuous improvement initiatives and oversee resource planning
Manage expense budgeting, supply utilization, and cross-department project coordination
Lead internal communications and represent the lab with internal/external stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Histotechnology, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Sciences, Biology, or Chemistry
National certification as a Histotechnologist (HTL) or Medical Technologist (MT)
3–5 years of supervisory or management experience in histology (hospital or central lab setting)
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams across multiple sites
Willingness to travel within the region as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a related field
Experience launching or managing central laboratory operations
