Licensed Practical Nurse
GMH Annex
About the Position:
Griffin Memorial Hospital (GMH) Annex is recruiting for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to work in our newly opened forensic unit.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing technical direct and indirect nursing care in a hospital under the supervision or direction of a registered nurses or licensed physician.
- Offering health care to patients, experiencing severe emotional disorder(s)/psychiatric illness or substance abuse.
- Performing crisis intervention and works collaboratively with Psychiatrists, Therapists, and other Nurses.
- Preparing medication and distributing on the unit.
Job Type/Salary:

- This is a full-time shift position. Shifts are 12 hours in duration.
- Annual Salary is $50,500.00 - $60,000.00 plus holiday, shift differential and benefits!
- Night shifts (6:30pm- 7:00am)
- The FLSA Status is Non-Exempt for this Position.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- LPN III: Possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing plus two years of practical nursing experience; or Licensed Practical Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) plus two years of practical nursing experience.
- LPN II: Possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and one year of practical nursing experience; or Licensed Practical Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) plus one year of practical nursing experience.
- LPN I: Possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing; or Licensed Practical Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- Possesses a strong commitment to patient well-being and safety and believes that recovery is possible!
Special Requirements:
- Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds.
- Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.
