We’re looking for a new Senior Transit and Rail Signals Designer in our Signals Group to help drive the objectives and challenges our valued clients have trusted us to solve for them.
As a SYSTRA US Senior Transit and Rail Signals Designer, you will join a world-class team of high-performing engineers, designers, drafters and others who work collectively to ensure client projects continue to thrive while remaining on track and budget.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Produce and participate in designing hardware circuit plans for transit and rail projects of various levels of complexity with little to no supervision
- Produce construction site plans for transit and rail projects of various levels of complexity
- Assist in the development of detailed construction drawings for signal projects.
- Develop software for wayside and interlocking microprocessors
- Analyze and review the design and construction drawing requirements to ensure a match with customers' specifications

Required Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of Signaling principles pertaining to automatic and cab signaling systems
- In-depth understanding of Boolean algebra as it pertains to Signal application logic programs
- 10-20 years of experience in a Railroad Signals environment
- Knowledge of Positive Train Control (PTC) systems and associated federal regulations
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience performing Signal System design
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering/Engineering Technology
- Master’s or other advanced degree(s)
- Direct Signal System experience working at a rail or transit agency
- Professional Engineer License (PE) or the ability to obtain a license
- Project Management Profession (PMP) certification
