Job Summary:
In Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers.
The Mission Capability and Verification Center (MCVC) located on White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), NM is searching for a Principal Specialist to join the Team. The candidate will be involved in mission activity, munition testing and qualification testing support, locally on WSMR and multiple testing locations throughout the United States. Candidates will collaborate with multi-disciplined teams while supporting multiple projects to achieve timely execution and completion of established goals.. The candidate will work in an engineering environment to support and facilitate testing of engineering hardware in accordance with customer and internal requirements and industry standards.
This position is an onsite role in White Sands New Mexico. This position requires travel.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of tasks
- 50% travel required to support assigned systems. Travel is both within WSMR and to other US locations
- Provide support in a field testing environment
- Support to MCVC as needed outside of primary duties
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
- Experience in collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve common goals
- Must have successfully completed the SkillBridge Internship Program.
- Active and transferrable US government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. US citizenship is required, as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working at a test range, supporting a variety of test and/or facility efforts
- Ability to independently prioritize work in alignment with schedule and budget
- Strong written and oral communication skills as it pertains to collaboration within an engineering environment and working with internal and external customers
