Sr. Event Planner

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Senior Event Planner. The Senior Event Planner will support the marketing team by leading the evaluation, coordination, planning and external vendor management for key retail industry tradeshows and events. This role will focus on driving successful events by understanding and contributing to the events strategy, leading the event planning process with key stakeholders, and bringing new ideas that enable relevant lead generation, meaningful customer & partner engagement, and delivering unique event experiences that build the reputation of the brand.

Skills and Qualifications

• 8+ years of proven success in event planning, with a focus on trade shows.
• Strong knowledge of event planning strategy and best practices.
• Excellent organizational skills with an ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Experience managing relationships with vendors and internal teams.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Flexibility to travel (up to 20%) and participate in occasional evening/weekend events.
• Strong problem-solving skills and professionalism in resolving issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the research, evaluation, and selection of relevant retail industry trade shows.
• Manage the planning and coordination of trade shows, including venue selection, logistics, registration, lodging, and on-site support.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive annual event strategy alongside cross-functional teams.
• Act as the main point of contact for vendors, ensuring smooth execution of event sponsorships, production, and services.
• Track event progress, including schedules and budgets, while providing updates to management.
• Ensure successful virtual and hybrid event components are integrated where applicable.
• Mentor junior-level event planners, providing guidance and expertise.
• Support additional external meetings, such as sales/partner roadshows or advisory councils.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate event performance and suggest future improvements.
• Plan and facilitate logistics for external events, including venue scouting, catering, entertainment, and virtual event management.
• Collaborate with internal staff, vendors, and trade show organizations to meet event goals and objectives.
• Research and evaluate new trade shows and provide recommendations to align with marketing strategies.
• Track and manage event budgets and work closely with vendors on invoicing.
• Oversee on-site event logistics, including setup, breakdown, and issue resolution.
• Prepare post-event debriefs and feedback to enhance future event success.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in event management or related discipline.
• Experience with event planning software or scheduling tools.
• Knowledge of virtual event technology and strategies.
• CTSM certification is a plus.
