Overview
Position Summary:
The Cogito/BI Manager is responsible for leading the development, deployment, and optimization of the reporting and analytics infrastructure supporting the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This role ensures that the organization effectively leverages Epic Cogito tools, including Clarity, Caboodle, and Reporting Workbench, to deliver actionable insights that drive clinical, operational, and financial performance. The Cogito/BI Manager works closely with stakeholders across the organization to identify reporting needs, manage a team of analysts and developers, and ensure the delivery of high-quality analytics solutions aligned with organizational priorities.
Required to be on-site at least 3 days per week.
Expect to travel to Madison, WI for 2-3 weeks over the summer based on the specific certification track needed for your application. More detail will be provided as the course catalog is finalized for offerings
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, healthcare administration, or a related field is required or equivalent experience. A master’s degree in healthcare informatics, business intelligence, or a related field is preferred.
Epic Certification:
One or more Epic certifications (e.g., Clarity Data Model, Caboodle Data Warehouse, or Reporting Workbench) are preferred. For candidates without existing certifications, Epic certification will be required as part of onboarding.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or informatics, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- At least 3 years of experience managing teams or leading large-scale analytics projects.
- Hands-on experience with Epic Cogito tools, including Clarity, Caboodle, and Reporting Workbench, is highly desired.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong understanding of database structures, data integration, and data visualization best practices.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver results within tight timelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Epic EHR implementation or optimization projects.
