Job Description
As a Property Claims Adjuster you would be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving property insurance claims in a timely and professional manner. The Property Claims Adjuster assesses property damage, reviews policy coverage, gathers and analyzes documentation, communicates with policyholders and vendors, and negotiates claim settlements. This role requires strong analytical, customer service, and problem-solving skills to ensure accurate claim handling while delivering a positive customer experience and maintaining compliance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Confirm and investigate the application of insurance coverage following a loss.
- Conduct and complete thorough and detailed investigations.
- Evaluate, estimate, and document personal, commercial property, and/or liability claim details/findings.
- Work directly with customers and guide them through the claims process and negotiate fair and equitable settlements in an effort to facilitate claims resolution while demonstrating empathy.
- Work with and coordinate vendor services and/or business partners in an effort to return the customer or claimant to their pre-loss condition.
- Written, telephone and electronic communications are a major part of the position activity, and includes direct communication with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, vendors, contractors, police and fire departments, state and county fraud personnel, special investigators, attorneys, members of the medical profession, and all other people incident to the investigation and processing of claims.
- The candidate will perform other duties as assigned.
- The candidate will also be expected to comply with management instruction, adhere to all of the company’s standards and expectations, and comply with statutory requirements.
Qualifications
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in fast pace environment independently.
- Have the ability to efficiently use Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Must be reliable.
- Must be a quick learner and be willing to adapt and learn.
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree is preferred, but is not required.
- Demonstrated work experience in property insurance claims and/or construction.
- Two years plus property estimating experience.
- Xactimate knowledge and experience is preferred.
- Proven experience delivering outstanding customer service is required.
- Must be persistent and have the ability to work through and solve problems independently.
