$30.15 - $45.25JOB SUMMARY: As a medical technologist, you will analyze blood, urine, and bone marrow and body fluid specimens in order to provide data that helps our physicians determine the best treatment for their patient. Automated and manual techniques are routinely used to properly evaluate samples in patients with a wide range of clinical conditions. Testing responsibilities include moderate and high complexity assays which are performed in compliance with accrediting organizations as well as departmental policies and procedures. The technologist will evaluate results, troubleshoot and dispense blood products in compliance with protocols, procedures and regulatory agencies. The medical technologist may be required to evaluate results, troubleshoot, and assist in developing new test methods.

Education/Experience/Certifications to Qualify:
- Bachelor's degree and successful completion of a Medical Technologist program.
- Eligible for Medical Technologist certification (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
- Previous experience as Medical Technologist preferred.
- Technologist/Scientist Certification from ASCP or equivalent, Required.
- Successful completion of a NAACLS approved Medical Technology program preferred.
Essential Functions:
- Perform and provide accurate laboratory test results on human patients.
- Prepare and issue blood components for patient transfusions.
- Assist in the collection and transport of patient samples from the clinics to laboratory sections.
- Requisition and maintain inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment as needed for laboratory operations.
- Supervise, train, and review the work of students and lower-level technicians. Engage in clinical laboratory work.
- Operate complex specialized laboratory instruments; instruct other personnel in the use and operation of these instruments.
All individuals certified ASCP beginning January 1, 2004 must participate and maintain ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) through the Certification Maintenance Program (CMP). All individuals who are certified AMT beginning January 1, 2006 must participate and maintain AMT Certification Continuation Program (CCP).
