About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Austin team to help us build the next generation coffee robot. If you love software, robots, and coffee (not necessarily in that order!), then this is a great opportunity for you! You will be working with a growing team of hardware and software engineers to build control system software that drives the fully automated, robotic coffee house.

In this role, you will

  • Design, develop, and test new features for a coffee-robot automation control software
  • Participate in architecture discussions, influence product roadmap, and take ownership and responsibility over new projects.
  • Maintain and support existing code and evolve to newer technology stacks and architectures.
  • Participate in design and code reviews and recommend improvements.

Required for this role

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent experience coding.
  • 5+ years of experience with software development from concept to production
  • Excellent C#, C++ or Java programming skills
  • Proficient with compilers, debuggers, and IDEs
  • Experience with unit testing, BDD and system testing principles and frameworks
  • Experience with Agile Software Process and software ticketing systems such as Jira
  • Ability to drive all phases of the development cycle including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, release, and support.
  • Ability to distill high-level requirements into a working system through iterative development
  • A passion for building robust systems.
  • High energy, confident and self-motivated individual
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

We’re excited if you have

  • Good understanding of IoT, Can Bus communication and have worked with firmware teams
  • Strong experience with building SDKs, supporting APIs and building software services
  • Experience with MQTT/RESTful protocols
  • Experience with deployment of software on a large scale
  • Knowledge of Python is a plus
  • Experience with hardware/electrical debugging
  • Experience with state machine programming

  • We follow all typical COVID-19 policies when in the office
  • This role is in Austin, TX and requires in office work availability 90%-100% of the time to work directly with the hardware.
