About the team

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team of ZGM is responsible for the following key activities:
Management of corporate finance activities – reviewing closing financials, forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range planning
Business partnership activities – collaborating with and presenting to Mortgage leadership during Monthly Business Reviews
New customer product and channel projects – working with ZGM and other business segments at Zillow to develop and implement new growth strategies involving mortgage products
Ad-hoc analysis – developing and completing actions that can drive revenue acceleration or margin improvement for any of ZGMs LOBs

The Zillow Group Mortgages (“ZGM”) Segment consists of 3 lines of business (“LOB’s”):
Zillow Home Loans (“ZHL”) – a first-party loan originations business
Zillow Group Mortgages Inc. (“ZGMI”) – a B2B mortgage leads sale business
Mortech Inc. – a pricing, analytics, and tech tools provider to mortgage originations businesses
While all ZGM LOBs are growing, ZHL is the most constantly evolving business in Zillow’s direct-to-consumer transaction engagement and “Zillow 2.0” strategy.

About the role

This role requires an analytical, meticulous, and proactive candidate with outstanding eye for business and a curiosity to learn about the different revenue and cost levers that drive our business forward. You must be comfortable with ambiguity, have an interest in partnering closely with product leadership and an eagerness to distill key financial insights into practical strategy recommendations to help our products scale quickly and profitably.

You Will Get To:

  • Lead revenue and expense analysis, forecasting, and budgeting processes
  • Looking for a fast, forward-thinking, and results-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to support the rapid growth of our business as we continue to grow and scale our operations across the nation.
  • Serve a key function by collaborating with our business leaders, stakeholders, and product management operation group to ensure we are making the right decisions today for sustainable, thoughtful, and efficient long-term growth.
  • Will serve fundamental role in helping to build cross-segment and line of business reporting for senior leadership, collaborating with data science, broader finance teams, and data engineering teams
  • Partner with business leaders to develop strategies, evaluate business opportunities, and provide clear and concise recommendations based on detailed analysis
  • Build and support reporting and model functionality within our financial models and planning tools
  • Balance multiple ad hoc requests and demands, requiring the ability to quickly shift focus as necessary
  • Frequently lead and/or participate in meetings with key decision makers, including ZG executives

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York and Washington the standard base pay range for this role is $80,900.00 - $129,200.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York and Washington and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in investment banking or corporate finance
  • Experience building sophisticated financial models in Excel
  • Ability to own the development of high caliber PowerPoint presentations that are delivered to senior leadership and Board members
  • Learning agility on financial systems for headcount planning, P&L hierarchies and management and BI Tools (e.g., Tableau)

Preferred, but not required

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Software experience in Workday, Anaplan, and Tableau
  • Database and SQL querying experience
