As a Senior Systems Designer with a specialization in player abilities, you play a pivotal role in architecting gameplay mechanics that will captivate our worldwide player base. Your efforts will sculpt and fine-tune dynamic interactions that uphold our vision and immerse gamers in experiences like no other. 

As a Senior Systems Designer, you will: 

  • Design and implement gameplay mechanics focused on player abilities, ensuring persistent and captivating player involvement. 
  • Engage in meaningful dialogues with fellow designers and leadership, transforming multifaceted design concepts into actual gameplay elements. 
  • Work closely with Engineers and Animators to bring to life game mechanics, specifically player traversal and player abilities. 
  • Collaborate with Level Designers, keeping them informed about the evolving design perspectives.
  • Adjust and hone gameplay features, always bearing in mind the project's timelines, technical boundaries, and overarching gameplay goals. 
  • Consistently deliver high-quality work within specified deadlines. 
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of design facets, providing a clear guide for the team. 

To be considered for this role, we require the following: 

  • Extensive experience as a Systems Designer, developing game mechanics for high-fidelity games, with a focus on player centric mechanics.
  • Advanced understanding of game design methodologies. 
  • Highly proficient at implementing designs within commercial or proprietary game engines.  
  • Expertise with visual scripting tools and editors.
  • A deep understanding of animation systems and ability to collaborate with animation and engineering teams. 

Preference will be given to candidates who have: 

  • Previously worked as a Senior Systems Designer.
  • Experience and passion for creating systems, specifically for FPS games on PC/Console. 
  • Proficiency with working within Unreal Engine. 
  • Strong understanding of visual scripting, ideally Blueprints.
  • Interest and ability to mentor junior team members to foster their professional growth and development.

It'll be a bonus if you also have: 

  • Contributed to shipped AAA title as a Senior Designer, or equivalent. 
  • Managed a team of 1+ designers.

The pay range for this role includes the annual base salary, not including bonus and the generous benefits package that Crystal Dynamics provides all full-time employees. Individual compensation is determined by work location within our approved states or regions, as well as additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education.
