About the role
VitalSource®, is hiring a Project Manager to contribute to our Customer Success team located in either Raleigh NC (hybrid), Chicago IL, Franklin TN, or Boston MA (preferred locations). Applicants outside of these preferred locations will still be considered. There is a 20% travel requirement for this role. - Identifies and manages stakeholders and resource needs.
- Accepts, assigns and manages accountability required for the successful execution of projects
- Leads effective, action-oriented meetings with stakeholders to elicit, translate, and document functional and technical requirements, deliverables and criteria for success. Identifies and implements ways to track and report success metrics.
- Independently defines project scope, deliverables, plans, and timelines based on business needs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and resource constraints. Tracks project milestones; provides advanced project analysis and documents progress throughout the project. Communicates project status into the team, out to stakeholders, and up to leadership.
- Executes project tasks and manages implementation plans for internal and external stakeholders, controlling changes through established change management processes to maintain project integrity. Collaborates with a distributed project team and groups of stakeholders to identify and control risks, and to understand and report issues and impediments within the project
- Transitions completed and self-approved deliverables to appropriate ownership with all needed documentation and training
- Success in this role will be measured by on-time delivery, stakeholder satisfaction, and adherence to project budgets/scope.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor/leadership based on business needs.
- 4+ years experience with project management
- 1+ years of experience with change management methodologies (e.g., ADKAR preferred)3+ years customer management experience
- 2+ years experience in the software industry Strong technical project management capabilities, including risk management, requirements gathering, and milestone tracking.
- Advanced knowledge of customer metrics, methodologies, and gathering functional requirements
- Strong technical project management capabilities
- Ability to manage and track multiple initiatives concurrently
- Proven ability to identify strategic themes and discern any wide-reaching effects of project activities and deliverables
- Proficiency with Salesforce CRM
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, agile experience, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the organization and with external partners
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate across functional teams and influence without authority
- Adaptability in fast-paced and changing environments
