Summary:

Career Development at American University’s Kogod School of Business provides career development support to undergraduate and graduate business students. Event and Operations Assistants (EOAs) are students who assist with event support and administrative operations. This position is paid, and hiring preference is given to students who will be available for both the fall and spring semesters. This position will report to the Assistant Director, Career Events and Operations and operate within Kogod’s Career Development team.   

 

 Essential Functions:

• Assist with event logistics and provide day-of-support for career services related events. 

• Deliver high-level customer service to all visitors and event attendees (e.g., students, employers, faculty, staff, etc.).   

• Provide project assistance, including data entry, regarding career service deliverables. 

• Become knowledgeable about Handshake, 12twenty, and related technology platforms, to troubleshoot technical issues, provide support for employers and students, and perform specific career-related deliverables for office. 

• Contribute to content creation for the department such as social media, PowerPoint presentations, etc. 

• Perform general office administrative duties, such as copying, stocking shared space, etc. 

Salary Range:

• $17.50- $18.50 per hour.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

• 10-20 hours per week.

• Fall 2024 and Spring 2025.

• This position will not necessarily have a consistent schedule and individuals with flexibility to work events during both the workday and evenings will be prioritized.
