Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Program Director 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals leading the Mission Systems IPT on the MQ-4C Triton program. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.
The Mission Systems IPT Director will provide strategic leadership for the Mission Systems IPT through all phases of the product life cycle to include scope of Advanced Development, Development, Sustainment, and Production.
This position is responsible for successful cost, schedule, and technical execution across multiple contracts as well as capital and NCTA projects.
The Mission Systems IPT Director will be responsible for all aspects of the Mission Systems Product within the Triton UAS to include Payload Sensor subsystems, Communications subsystems, Networks subsystems, and Software.
Additionally, the individual will have the following responsibilities:
Leadership & Vision – Define and communicate the IPT’s technical vision, strategy, and performance objectives; inspire and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, program managers, and subject matter experts
Support proposal development activities.
Develop yearly capital and indirect expense forecasts.
Manage the maintenance and upgrade of Mission Systems development and integration laboratory environments.
Maintain performance metrics and report status to Program Management.
Develop and track closure plans for Issue closure and Risk mitigation.
Assess Earned Value progress and forecast EAC.
Responsible for partnering with Functional Home Room on staffing and employee skill development to meet Program needs.
Train and deploy qualified Field Service Engineers (FSEs) to forward operational sites in support of USN operations of the MQ-4C Triton system.
Oversee Management of daily compliance with policies and procedures including security, property management, calibration, training, configuration control, and test conduct.
Travel, up to 25% of time, will be required. The position is not a candidate for remote or hybrid work.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years (or Bachelor of Science in STEM and 9+ years) of related experience; or Master’s degree with 8+ years (or Master of Science in STEM and 7+ years) of related experience
Related experience includes professional and/or military experience to include a background in program execution, proposal, program management, and/or design
3 years in a program or project leadership role
Must have an active Secret clearance that has been granted or reissued in the last 6 years or is currently enrolled in continuous evaluation and the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance
Ability to be granted and maintain special program access as required by business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI/SAP Clearance
Extensive experience with UAV Mission Systems subsystems
