Job Summary:

The Retail & Merchandise Manager is primarily responsible for Retail Operations at the Hall of Fame Village, a subsidiary of the publicly traded Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment Company (NASDAQ: HOFV, HOFVW).  The Retail Coordinator is a full-time position with weekends required during scheduled events on campus. This position reports directly to the VP of Revenue Services.

This is a “start-up” position that needs to have the ability to build a strategy and implement it. This role has a very unique opportunity to build and lead a store operations program for HOFV, purchasing souvenirs and apparel, store design, and building daily operations for an incredible brand.


Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

- Provide superior guest service to visitors, guests, clients, vendors, and staff. 

- Responsible for strategic planning and development of the retail operations at HOFV. This includes but is not limited to Team Shops located in Tom Benson Stadium, Forever Lawn Sports Complex, GameDay Bay Waterpark novelty operations for events, and procuring branded items for various events and sponsorship team.

- Assist the VP of Revenue with development and management of labor, cost of goods sold (COGS), and expense budgets.

- Responsible for procurement of merchandise through various vendors. Work with the Procurement Department on vendor set up, credit terms, and reconciliation of invoices. 

- Responsible for inventory set up, reporting and analyzing, and monthly and annual physical counts.

- Responsible for pricing and profitability related to retail merchandising. 

- Oversee all merchandising functions including visual display, handling, packing and pricing of each category.

- Maintain stock records and keep stock orders within budget.

- Liaise with suppliers on product pricing, promotions, special orders, buy-backs, and damages.

- Manage all product marketing on campus webstore and across retail, direct & social media channels for apparel and accessories divisions.

- Manage e-commerce websites to maintain accurate information and maximize sales.

- Develop, train and manage a seasonal retail staff.

- Supervision of assigned staff, assuming day-to-day responsibilities for personnel related matters that include but are not limited to:

o Assist during interview process, onboarding, and training new hires. 

o Complete annual performance reviews for all supervised staff. 

o Provide continuous feedback, supervision, and coaching to all supervised staff. 

o Formal discipline supervised staff in conjunction with Human Resources. 

o Create and maintain schedule, assignments, and attendance.

o Approve time clocks and make adjustments as needed. 

o Respond in a timely manner to calls, texts, inquiries, and emails.

o Enforce uniform protocol. 

- All other duties as assigned.


FULL-TIME/SALARY/EXEMPT POSITION

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Desired Qualifications:

- Minimum of an associate degree in business management or a related field, bachelors degree preferred. 

- 3-5 years’ Retail/Gift Shop experience, preferably in management.

- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. 

- A charismatic leader who adjusts leadership style to motivate diverse groups to achieve extraordinary goals and overcome challenges. Inspires and motivates team members to work together and achieve beyond expectations.

- The ability to work a flexible schedule (nights, weekends & holidays as necessary) is required.

- Must be a flexible and reliable team player, both within own department and entire organization.

- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of performance, working quickly without compromising quality.  

- Must have the ability to demonstrate uncompromised judgment and discretion regarding confidential matters while maintaining confidentiality. 

- Proven ability in Microsoft Office Suite.


Physical Requirements for Position: 

- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. 

- The ability to work in various Ohio weather conditions, inside and outside.

- The ability to move safely over uneven terrain, steps, or in construction zones. 

- The ability to see and respond to hazardous situations. 

- The ability to sit, stand, squat, and walk for periods of time as required for the position.

- Must be able to hear, see, and speak.   

- Ability to comprehend instructions and retain information.  

- Must have manual dexterity necessary to complete all job duties
