Job Summary:

The Department of Computing Technology in the School of Computer Science and Mathematics at Marist University invites applications for a full-time faculty position of Professional Lecturer to begin in the Fall of 2025. Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field. The ideal candidate should have experience teaching in one or more of the following areas: software development, systems analysis and design, data communications and networking, cybersecurity, database systems and information management, distributed computing and cloud computing. Evidence of excellence in teaching is required, as well as participation in service to the school and university. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.  Industry and/or consulting experience is highly desirable. Evidence of the ability to work effectively in diverse environments is highly regarded.  

Essential Functions:

We seek candidates who have the following teaching and professional interests: software development, data management and information security, computer networks, cloud infrastructure, and information technology management. Applicants with the ability to teach in multiple areas across several disciplines will receive preference. Applicants must be willing to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in both traditional in-person and on-line environments. 

Required duties outside the classroom include professional development activities as well as engagement in university and professional services such as advising and mentoring students and serving on department, school, or university committees.

    • Typical eligibility requirements: 1 year of service and 1,000 hours with Marist University.
  • 403(b) Tax Deferred Annuity – Roth option available. Voluntary, up to IRS maximum contribution.
  • Tuition Benefits:
    • Up to 16 undergraduate credits per semester. Up to 18 graduate credit per academic calendar. Eligibility extends to employee, spouse, and dependent children under age 26.
    • University pays 100% tuition only.
    • Eligible dependents may be Reimbursed up to $2,000 per semester towards tuition at another accredited institution.

*Eligibility requirements including waiting periods and/or employee probationary periods may apply at the discretion of the University.
